BIS India Certification

The product you want to sell in India — for example an LED lamp, steel rebar, or a packaged-water brand.

Domestic products use the ISI or CRS schemes; products made abroad use the Foreign Manufacturer scheme (FMCS), where BIS inspects the overseas factory.

For example electronics/IT, electrical appliance, steel, or toys. BIS certification is mandatory for about 150 categories — we confirm which scheme applies (ISI, CRS, or FMCS).

Foreign manufacturers need an AIR — a local Indian entity that handles certain compliance duties. We can act as your AIR or recommend one.
