How it works
Enter your trademark registration or application number, complete the secure checkout, and you're done, about 2 minutes, no paperwork needed upfront.
We prepare and file the formal attorney appointment (or revocation of a prior attorney, if applicable) with the USPTO via Trademark Center, within 1 business day. It takes effect immediately.
Your licensed US attorney is your official attorney of record. All USPTO correspondence flows to us, deadlines are monitored, and retainer discounts are active.
Who this service is for
Whether the USPTO requires it of you or you simply want professional oversight, the retainer keeps a licensed US attorney on your file at all times.
Legal requirement
Under 37 C.F.R. § 2.11(a), owners domiciled outside the US are legally required to have a US-licensed attorney at all times. Non-compliance risks abandonment.
GTC client, renewal required
If GTC filed your application or took over your representation, the retainer becomes mandatory 1 year after registration (or 1 year after GTC assumed representation). Missing this deadline removes your attorney representation.
Pending or registered
Filed pro se or with a prior attorney? We file a Revocation of Prior Power of Attorney (USPTO Form PTO/TM/80). No permission from your previous attorney is needed.
1+ year after registration
Your trademark is registered and past the first year. Get continuous attorney oversight. Deadline monitoring, correspondence handling, and filing discounts.
Important notice
If your trademark was filed by GTC, or if GTC took over your representation at any stage, this retainer becomes mandatory one year after your registration date (or one year after GTC took over your representation, whichever applies).
What happens if you don't subscribe before that deadline?
What's included
Everything your trademark needs to stay represented and compliant, plus exclusive discounts on the filings you'll need down the line.

Why GTC
A licensed US attorney is formally appointed on your USPTO file via a Power of Attorney. The representation 37 C.F.R. § 2.11(a) requires of every foreign-domiciled owner.
All correspondence (Office Actions, notices, receipts) is received and read by your attorney, with a plain-English summary of anything you need to decide.
Section 8, Section 8 & 9, and renewal cycles are tracked and actioned proactively, so a missed maintenance window never abandons your mark.
Retainer clients get 10% off the GTC professional fee on maintenance, renewal, assignment, Office Action responses, and SOU filings. Government fees stay at cost.
Your Customer Success Team
Every GTC client gets a dedicated Account Manager and a Senior Account Manager who learn your business and stay with you from first email to final filing. They are named people who pick up the phone and already know your matter, so every step moves forward without delay.
Your day-to-day point of contact, who coordinates every matter, keeps things moving, and already knows your file. They have your full history, so you start every conversation where the last one left off.
Senior oversight on strategy and escalations, stepping in as your needs grow, so every important detail stays on track.
A named person, on email or a call, at every step.

Your attorney of record
"When I'm your attorney of record, every Office Action the USPTO sends comes directly to my desk. I review it the day it arrives, assess the risk, and notify you with a plain-English summary, not legalese. Most of my clients never see a letter from the USPTO unless there's something they need to decide."
