Petyo is GTC's named EU trademark attorney and the signer on every EUTM application filed by the firm. From the Sofia office, he files directly with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante and represents clients before EUIPO Examination Division and Opposition Division on substantive matters.
His practice covers the full EU Trade Mark Regulation: Article 7 absolute-grounds analysis (descriptiveness, distinctiveness, customary terms) across 24 official EU languages, Article 8 relative-grounds opposition strategy, and the EUTM-vs-national-route decisions that turn on the senior-marks landscape in any one of the 27 member states.
Post-Brexit, Petyo also leads GTC's UK trademark work, advising clients on the parallel UKIPO filings now required for British market coverage and on the cloned UK comparable marks that emerged from pre-Brexit EUTMs.
