- EU Trademark Registration
One filing. Your brand, protected across all 27 EU states.
An EU-qualified attorney* files your trademark directly with the EUIPO — one application, one certificate, one renewal across the whole single market.
From $300.00 + EUR 850 EUIPO, first class · 4–6 months to registration

What you get
Everything an EU trademark gives you — and everything we handle
An EU Trade Mark (EUTM) is a single unitary right, registered with the EUIPO in Alicante under Regulation (EU) 2017/1001. One application gives you exclusive rights to your brand name, logo, or slogan across the entire single market — 27 countries and roughly 450 million consumers.
Your rights once it’s registered
- Exclusive rights to your brand across all 27 EU member states — from one filing.
- The right to use the ® symbol throughout the EU once registered.
- A single certificate, a single renewal, and centralised management at the EUIPO.
- EU-wide customs enforcement to stop counterfeits at any external border.
- A basis to extend protection to 130+ countries through the Madrid System.
- Seniority claims over your earlier national marks, so nothing you already hold is lost.
What’s included when you file with GTC
Every step is handled by your EU-qualified attorney — not a paralegal or an automated form.
-
Attorney-led clearance search
An EUIPO and national prior-rights search with an EU attorney's read on your odds — plus a free second search if your first mark conflicts.
-
Drafted & filed by your attorney
Your goods and services drafted and classified under Nice, then filed directly with the EUIPO under our office's representative ID.
-
Examination & opposition watched
Your attorney monitors examination correspondence and the 3-month opposition window, and responds to non-substantive objections at no extra cost§.
-
A year of aftercare
One year of post-registration attorney representation, included.
-
Enforcement head-start
An attorney-drafted cease-and-desist template to help you stop misuse of your mark.

Compare your options
One EU filing, or country by country?
For most businesses selling into Europe, a single EUTM is the efficient route: one application covers the whole single market, where national filings mean repeating the work in every country. Here’s how the two compare — so you can pick what fits.
When a national filing can be the better call
- You sell in only one or two EU countries and have no plans to expand.
- A conflicting earlier mark in a single member state could block an EUTM — a national filing sidesteps it.
Your attorney reviews the earlier-marks landscape across the member states first and tells you, plainly, which route gives your brand the strongest protection — before you commit.
How much
Transparent pricing, fair because we work efficiently
We run EU filings on one online platform with attorney oversight, so the work stays efficient and the price stays fair — a flat service fee, the EUIPO’s fee at cost, and every cost shown before you pay.
What makes up your price
-
$300.00 / classGTC service feeClearance search, attorney-led drafting, Nice classification, EUIPO filing, and standard prosecution by an EU-qualified attorney — the same fee for each class.
-
EUR 850 (1st class)EUIPO government feeSet by the EUIPO and paid at cost: EUR 850 for the first class, EUR 50 for the second, EUR 150 for each additional class. Non-refundable, even if your application is refused.
-
≈EUR 42.50Payment processingA 5% fee on the EUIPO fees we pay on your behalf, itemised separately before you pay.
Only if it applies: opposition defence before the EUIPO Opposition Division, and substantive refusals, are quoted upfront before any work§ — never a surprise.
EUIPO government fees are set by the EUIPO in euros and are shown at cost.
What it costs to keep it
An EUTM lasts 10 years and renews indefinitely in 10-year terms. Renewal fees match the filing fees (EUR 850 for the first class). You must also put the mark to genuine use within 5 years to keep it enforceable — we track every deadline so nothing lapses by accident.
How long
From search to registered across 27 states — and beyond
Most unopposed EUTMs register in about 4 to 6 months. Filing is fast; the set waits are the EUIPO’s examination and the mandatory 3-month opposition window. Here’s the honest timeline.
-
Before you pay
Free clearance search
An EU-qualified attorney runs an EUIPO and national prior-rights search and tells you — plainly — whether to file, refine, or pivot.
-
~2–3 business days
We prepare and file
Your attorney drafts and classifies the goods and services and files your EUTM directly with the EUIPO under our office's representative ID.
-
~1 month
Examination
The EUIPO checks formalities and absolute grounds (Article 7) — distinctiveness, descriptiveness, public policy — before your mark is published.
-
3 months
Opposition window
Your mark is published in the EUTM Bulletin and any party with an earlier right can oppose. Your attorney watches the window and advises if anyone files.
-
~4–6 months total
Registration across 27 states
With no opposition (or one resolved in your favour), your EUTM registers — valid across all 27 member states, and you can use the ® symbol EU-wide.
-
Year 5, then every 10
Genuine use & renewal
Put the mark to genuine use within 5 years to keep it enforceable, then renew every 10 years. We track both deadlines for the life of your portfolio.

- * Attorney representation.
- Every EU trademark application filed through GTC is prepared and filed by an EU-qualified trade mark attorney acting as your professional representative before the EUIPO. Non-EU applicants are required by Article 120 EUTMR to be represented by an authorised representative — included in the service fee.
- † EUIPO filing fees.
- The EUIPO sets its fees in euros: EUR 850 for the first class, EUR 50 for the second, EUR 150 for each additional class, paid to the EUIPO and passed through at cost. A 5% payment-processing fee applies to EUIPO fees paid through us (about EUR 42.50 on the first class), itemised separately before you pay. Refund treatment is governed by our Refund & Credit Policy.
- § Procedural objections.
- Responses to non-substantive (formality) examiner objections are included in the new-filing service fee. Substantive matters — absolute-grounds refusals under Article 7 and opposition defence under Article 8 EUTMR — are quoted upfront before any further work begins. See scope of work for the full breakdown.

Your request
Select every country or region you want protection in — we price each separately.
The exact word or slogan to protect — spelling, capitalization and spacing all matter.
Word only (e.g. NIKE), logo only (the swoosh), or both — this changes what we can protect.
💡 Not sure? Choose "Combined" if your brand uses both a logo and text together.
If your mark uses foreign words or non-Latin script, offices require a translation/transliteration.
