The rules that change how we search, draft and file for you. We handle every one of them.
Whoever files first at the Ministry owns the right. Prior use elsewhere does not count. File before you launch.
The goods list must be in Arabic, and the Ministry writes in Arabic. Descriptive or laudatory Arabic terms fail examination.
Foreign applicants must file via a Ministry-licensed trademark agent. GTC handles this for you; there is nothing for you to arrange.
The UAE takes no multi-class filings. Each class is its own application and its own fee.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras al-Khaimah, Umm al-Quwain and Fujairah. Customs can act at Jebel Ali and DXB.
Marks against Islamic law or public order are refused. We screen for this in the free check.

An earlier identical or similar UAE registration covers the same or similar goods. A pre-filing Ministry of Economy clearance search catches this before you spend AED 750.
The mark is generic, descriptive, or laudatory in Arabic or English. Counsel argues acquired distinctiveness or refines the specification.
The UAE applies strict review of marks that conflict with Islamic law, religious symbols, or local cultural norms. We screen for these at intake.
