What does it cost to renew in the 6 months after expiry?

The normal renewal fee plus one £60 late renewal fee for the mark, not per class. The mark stays on the register while you renew.

If my mark is restored, can I sue for copying during the gap?

Not always. Anyone who began using a similar sign in good faith between expiry and the published restoration cannot be sued for that period.

When does my UK comparable mark need renewing?

It keeps the renewal date of the EU trade mark it came from. You pay a separate UK renewal fee to UKIPO, apart from any EUIPO fee.

Can I get my UK trade mark back after the six-month late period?

Possibly. You can ask to restore it on Form TM13 within six months of its removal. UKIPO must accept that the failure to renew was unintentional.

Can I drop classes when I renew a UK trade mark?

Yes. Gov.uk confirms you can reduce the number of classes at renewal. You then pay only for the classes you keep.
